James Keirle

James is a conductor, composer and trombonist who has recently relocated to South London after receiving his Masters in Composition from the University of Manchester. As well as conducting the Holborn Community Orchestra for the last year, James also conducts the South London Jazz Orchestra and assists with the Dulwich Symphony Orchestra and Lambeth Wind Orchestra.
James’ past conducting engagements include the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra, Manchester String Society, Manchester University Big Band, St. James Sinfonietta and the award-winning Manchester University Brass Band. James studied conducting with Mark Heron from the RNCM and has received masterclasses from Clark Rundell RNCM and Nicolas Pasquet from the Weimar School of Music. James’ own music has been performed by many professional and amateur ensembles throughout the UK including Psappha, Trio Atem, the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra, Quartet Menine, Quatour Danel and Ensemble L’imaginaire. James’s opera, ‘Not on the List’, has received three performances in Manchester and London.
